Our story really starts on our first date a couple of years ago. Rick took me out to a nice Italian restaurant. Little did I know that he was incredibly nervous and trying to hide the fact that he was sweating profusely! He ordered the charcuterie board as an appetizer, which was amazing. He scored big points. For one he took it upon himself to order, I am old school that way and for two, I love charcuterie! That was our huge icebreaker as we got to know each other a little better. We discovered that we both are sort of foodies and loved to cook or as we say “wing it” with whatever is in the kitchen. As the weeks went on it became a bit of a competition on who could create the best snack board, I was usually the winner! I grew up in a big family and we usually had hors d’oeuvres and cocktails before dinner (well my parents had the cocktails) so it is only natural I can hold my own in the snack/grazing/charcuterie world… it must be genetic 😊
Fast forward a bit as our dating became more serious, we were having more fun staying in that going out. Now that I look back, I think that was Rick’s idea so he could spend the night 😊. Part of our entertainment turned into making fresh sausage. I am not really sure whose idea it was but we both come from strong German backgrounds, so it was only fitting we started researching our some of our heritage and recipes. After lots of trials, taste tests, equipment upgrades and hard work we now have 9 different unique flavors I am pretty darn proud of.
I have always been in the hospitality, food, catering and events industry in some compacity. Always trying to find my niche somewhere in there and honestly decide what I want to be when I grow up. Yes at 50 years old I think I have finally figured it out! Nothing better than turning a hobby and what I love to do into a business working for myself. I am so incredibly thankful for Rick, my now husband (and that first date) for his unconditional support along the way. I look forward to growth, creativity, prosperity and feeding many bellies along the way!
